The Andrews Labor Government is helping more women access leadership positions in community and government boards.

I encourage women in our community to apply for the 2023 round of scholarships under the Women’s Board Leadership Program.

This program is specifically designed to enable more women in our community access to these leadership positions through tailored governance training and mentoring.

This initiative will also enable more women, from a broad range of backgrounds, to improve their governance skills and gain extra experience make an impact on community and government boards in Victoria.

This program – delivered by the Institute of Community Directors Australia – will support 50 Victorian women to undertake governance training.

Those selected for the program will have up to 12 months to complete ICDA’s Diploma of Governance online.

This program is part of the government’s strong commitment to equal representation of women on government boards.

Scholarship applications are open until March 15.

Our local sporting clubs have done some really important work in supporting women to be in positions of leadership  and decision making. This program is for local women interested in serving on boards for not-for-profit organisations and committees of management. The scholarship covers 100% of the fee for this course, so if you feel like the program suits you, please apply and builds on the good work already happening in our community.”

We need diversity in our decision-making positions, which includes having more women at the table. Women need to be supported to have the skills to able to have a say in what communities look like and utilise their expertise and experiences, and thats what this diploma offers.”
