The Andrews Labor Government is delivering on their election promises and doing what matters for the people that make up the vibrant Eltham electorate.

Vicki Ward MP, Member for Eltham, today said, “The budget delivered by Victorian Treasurer, the Hon. Tim Pallas MP, outlines the strong and continued support of our electorate by the Andrews Government”

“We haven’t wasted a day when delivering the services and projects that matter to Victorians and this year’s State Budget 2023/24 shows the government is getting on with what we promised Victorians during last year’s state election."

“This support will go a long way in our community, from the $8.94 million in investment for Eltham High School to upgrade STEAM facilities, to $400,000 for Research Kinder for upgrades and the $32.8 million for a new shared use path between Montmorency and Eltham, are just some of the funded initiatives that will help our community continue to thrive, not just now but for generations to come.”

Other local wins in this budget include: $1.5 million for the Eltham Woods Childcare Co-op for upgrades, $325,000 supporting the delivery of the Pat Cronin Foundation Be Wise Program over the next 2 years, an upgrade to the Diamond Creek Dog Park and $2 million towards the construction of a new pedestrian bridge over the Diamond Creek.

The community will also benefit from $70,000 for Eltham Sea Scouts and $500,000 for the Montmorency Bowling Club. The Austin Hospital will see a $320 million investment into their Emergency Department, $100,000 for healthAbility to continue delivering important care for our community and funding has been committed to begin the planning for a new Mental Health Wellbeing local in Diamond Creek.

“Statewide, the government is continuing delivering on our promises to the Victorian community and delivering the important services and upgrades that matter to people,” said Vicki Ward MP.

The Budget included over $220 million in investment into women’s health, continued investment to bring back the SEC and deliver cost savings on electricity for Victorians while also expanding our clean energy workforce, the delivery of Free Kinder for all 3- and 4-year-olds and the expansion of Free TAFE along with support for students to study nursing and midwifery.
